Beloved anoraks from Kainuu

The making of anorak starts in our fabric in Kajaani. Anorak’s design and its patterns were originally made in Kajaani, and due to its timeless design, we can re-use the same patterns and cutting lay-out over and over again. After the GOTS certified organic cotton fabric arrives to our production facilities, we cut the fabric and finish the left sleeve pieces with an important detail: the recognizable, embroidered tree logo. Then the pattern pieces are shipped to the factory of our long-term partner in Estonia. There the anorak, at this point still fully white, is sewn and it acquires its final shape. After that the anorak is shipped to a dyehouse, which also is located in Estonia. The anorak products are garment dyed and therefore it is possible to dye even small quantities as well. Once dyed, the anorak is sent back to our factory in Kajaani. Final quality check at our warehouse, and the anoraks are ready to be sold in our own stores as well as in our retailers’ stores and in our online shop.

Classic Anorak

R-Collection’s classical anorak jacket was created in 1982 and was one of R-Collection’s first and most popular products. Anorak was quickly called the national costume of Kainuu, as it was very popular among the people. The design has been refined over the years to suit the current style, but the basic principle has remained the same for all years.

Zipper Anorak

Berry picking, cross-country skiing, quick groceries or going to a festival, zipper anorak is a perfect fit for any kind of situation. Full-lenght zipper makes it easier to put on compared to our Classic Anorak, but it still replicates the original look by its loose fit and drawcord hem as well. Zipper anorak has been a part of our collection since 1999.

Maxi Anorak

A-lined maxi anorak is designed to the urban adventures. Brushed fabric and practical details, such as the chest pocket inside and press buttons on the back of the hem, gives Maxi Anorak its own specific look, however maintaining the essential presence of anorak. The first resembling designs can be found in the collection of 1987, but the current design has been a part of the collection for about ten years now.

Maxi Anorak

The tightly woven fabric keeps the wind very well. It has been treated to repel dirt and water. The processing agent used in the treatment, as well as the colors used in the dyeing process, are Bluesign certified and don't contain fluorocarbonate compounds, therefore the garment is PFC-/PFAS-free. The coating preserves the fabric's natural softness and breathability.

Lehto Anorak

Anorak is our so-called “jack of all trades”. During the years we’ve created it over and over again. Its universal design is an endless fountain of inspiration, waiting to be discovered and turned into something new. Our latest anorak-inspired product, Lehto Anorak, is designed for outdoor activities. Italian water-repellent fabric and quilted, production surplus lining makes it a stylish choice for enjoying the higher sun angles and longer days of March, as well as the April showers.

Eija Anorak

The latest member of our Anorak family is Eija. During the years we’ve received lots of wishes for an anorak made with women’s sizing. Last autumn we were finally able to fulfil the wishes and Eija quickly earned its place among our core pieces. Inspired by our Maxi Anorak, just with slightly shorter sleeves, looser fit around the hips and, according to the wishes, a drawcord on the waist, Eija is another piece in the chain of timeless classics.
